Terms of Service

HTS MCP ("we", "us", the "Service") provides search, classification assistance, and research tools over the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule, CBP rulings, and related regulatory material, delivered through htsmcp.com, a REST API, and a hosted MCP server. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

The Service provides informational tools only. Output from the Service, including AI-generated classification suggestions, is not legal advice, not a customs ruling, and not a substitute for the judgment of a licensed customs broker or attorney. Tariff classification and duty liability are determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. You are solely responsible for classifications, entries, and declarations you file.

Tariff and regulatory data reflect the revision loaded at the time of ingestion and may lag official publications. Where the Service reports data currency or caveats (for example, Section 301 coverage), you should verify against official sources before relying on it for an entry filing.

Signup may require an invite code while the Service is in a controlled rollout. You are responsible for the security of your credentials and API keys and for all activity under them. Rotate or deactivate a key immediately if you believe it has been exposed. We may suspend accounts that present a security or abuse risk.

Free accounts include limited daily usage. Paid plans, including MCP server access and API keys, are set up directly with us and billed through Stripe. Usage is metered and subject to the rate and daily limits of your plan. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You can cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.

You agree not to:

• resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties without our agreement,
• circumvent quotas, rate limits, plan gating, or invite gating,
• scrape or bulk-export the underlying datasets outside documented interfaces,
• use the Service to violate law, including U.S. export and customs law, or
• probe, disrupt, or overload the Service.

The Service, including its software, enrichments, embeddings, and documentation, is our property or that of our licensors. The Harmonized Tariff Schedule, CBP rulings, and the Code of Federal Regulations are U.S. government works. You retain rights to the content you submit (for example, product descriptions); you grant us a license to process it to operate and improve the Service.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, currency, merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for duties, penalties, or losses arising from classifications or filings made in reliance on the Service. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. Sections 2, 6, 7, 8, and 10 survive termination.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, excluding conflict of law rules. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site or by email, and continued use constitutes acceptance. Questions: fbaig@htsmcp.com.
